Terms of use

Artlas is operated by Do Duc Anh under the Cresendo project name. These terms govern the Artlas website and apps. Contact: hello@cresendo.org.

A discovery and planning service

Artlas connects selected paintings with depicted places and holding museums. The first edition is free. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, bookings or ticket sales. If paid features are introduced later, their terms and price will be shown before purchase.

Use the information with care

Paintings are artistic interpretations and can show altered, imagined or historical scenes. A marker may describe a town, area or landmark; it is not a verified artist viewpoint, entrance or walking route. Museum holdings do not guarantee that a work is on public display. Opening hours, access rules, closures and local conditions can change. Check official visitor information before travelling, respect private property and follow local safety guidance. Do not use the app while driving.

Your saved data

Wishlist and trip planning are local to the device or browser. Export a backup before clearing storage, reinstalling or changing devices. We do not promise to recover local data that is removed from your device. Your travel plans remain yours; you choose whether to export or share them.

Images and content

Each artwork has source and rights information. Public-domain and CC0 artwork images may be reused according to the applicable source’s terms; museum trademarks, logos and unrelated materials have separate rights. Artlas’s interface, original text and branding remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Do not imply endorsement by a museum or artist.

Daily challenge

The daily challenge is a casual, non-prize game using city-level answers, five attempts and UTC editions. Its reviewed queue rotates, and paintings may repeat. We may correct a mistaken answer, revise future editions or suspend play during service maintenance.

Reasonable use

Do not attack or overload the service, attempt unauthorized access, bypass abuse limits, submit unlawful or abusive reports, or misuse another person’s data. We may limit requests or access to protect the service. Map providers have their own attribution and usage requirements; Artlas does not provide bulk map downloads.

Availability and responsibility

We aim to maintain useful, accurate content, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, complete coverage, or that a particular visit or artwork will be accessible. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Artlas is provided as available and we are not responsible for indirect loss arising from reliance on travel or collection information. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights.

Stopping use and changes

You can stop using Artlas at any time and remove local data in Settings. Material changes to these terms will be dated here. Any dispute is subject to applicable law and the courts that have jurisdiction; these terms do not remove mandatory protections in your country of residence.
